Robin is the protector of Sherwood Forest, disowned by Prince John, who encroaches on the royal throne. Robin befriends Little John and the oppressed, poor people of the land, charming Lady Marion, who eventually takes his side. New characters are added to the classic tale: Maid Olivia, Thomas, who doesn't even remember how many children he has, and a French cook who unsuccessfully tries to improve Prince John's eating habits and expand his culinary tastes.
